Scholarship Program

Sowers Club of Nebraska Scholarship Program

Since 2000, the Sowers Club of Nebraska Foundation has created four scholarship programs. These programs were established to promote and encourage interest in education, and to help those whom otherwise would be unable to pay for their education.

Sowers Club of Nebraska Scholarship – Continuing Education
Amount: $1,000.00
Deadline: Friday, November 5, 2010

Criteria:
Must be a declared student attending an institution of higher learning located in the State of Nebraska.

1. Must be a Resident of Nebraska.
2. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
3. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
4. Recipients are required to attend a disbursement function to be recognized.
5. Must include High School Transcript.
6. Must attend a College in Nebraska.
7. Must include three to five Letters of Recommendation.
8. Must be postmarked by Friday, November 5, 2010.

Sowers Club of Nebraska Scholarship – High School Seniors
Amount: $1,000.00
Deadline: Friday, March 4, 2011

Criteria:
Must be a full-time student attending an institution of higher learning located in the State of Nebraska.

1. Must be a Resident of Nebraska.
2. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
3. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or equivalent.
4. Recipients are required to attend a disbursement function to be recognized.
5. Must include High School Transcript.
6. Must attend a College in Nebraska.
7. Must receive application in the Sowers Office by Friday, March 4, 2011.
8. Must include three to five Letters of Recommendation.

in Memory of Mr. Oren Galloway
Amount: $500.00
Deadline: Friday, March 4, 2011

Criteria:
Must be a full-time student attending an institution of higher learning located in the State of Nebraska.

1. Must be a Resident of Nebraska.
2. Must have a parent currently employed with Burlington Northern Railroad.
3. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
4. Must attend a College in Nebraska.
5. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or equivalent.
6. Recipients are required to attend a disbursement function to be recognized.
7. Must include High School Transcript.
8. Must include Four Letters of Recommendation.
9. Must be received in the Sowers Office by Friday, March 4, 2011.

in Memory of Mr. Bob Milton
Amount: $500.00
Deadline: Friday, October 22, 2010

Criteria:

1. Must be a declared student in food service attending Southeast Community College.
2. Must be a full time student
3. Must have a GPA of 2.75 or higher
4. Must be a Nebraska Resident
5. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
6. Recipients are required to attend the Sowers Disbursement Function to be recognized.
7. Must be received in the Sowers Office by Friday, October 22, 2010.
